Our research focuses on understanding the role of the microbiome in the onset and progression of chronic and progressive diseases, including inflammatory airway conditions and neurodegenerative disorders. We take an interdisciplinary approach that integrates microbiology, immunology, and multi-omic analyses to examine how shifts in microbial diversity and community structure are linked to disease states. CRS affects approximately 1 in 7 adults in the US and is related to other conditions such as asthma, allergies, and cystic fibrosis.
